Dana Yawney was in perfect form last weekend. The Sudbury Synchronized Swim Club member placed second for routine and third overall in the 16-20 solo event at the 2012 Ontario Open Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships, held May 17 to 20 at the Etobicoke Olympium.

Yawney and her duet partner, Emmah Cacciotti, also placed fourth in the 16 to 20 duet event.

The club had an amazing weekend, according to a press release, putting forth team routines in each of the 10 and under, 11-12 and 16-20 age group categories. Lyanne Paquette also performed a solo in the 16-20 solo routine and Kamryn Butler and Mya Duguay competed in the 11-12 Duet finals.

"Both the solo and duet had exceptional placements, which were the result of an outstanding swim," Lindsay Wandziak head coach. "That is what we strive for at Sudbury Synchro, to teach the girls to always try their very best and give 100 per cent. All 21 athletes who competed this past weekend gave 100 per cent and for that I am extremely proud of each and every swimmer, and their coaches who prepared them so well throughout the year.”
