The Sudbury MMA club owner and head instructor most recently captured double-gold in the purple belt division in the Gi and No Gi competitions at the 2012 Ontario Open International Jiu-Jitsu Champsionships, which took place last month at Seneca College in Toronto.

The event is the largest BJJ tournament in Canada and also attracts competitors from the United States.

Earlier this year, Cole won the 2012 BJJ championship in the purple belt division at the Pan American Championship, held in California.

The Pan American, hosted by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, attracts athletes from all corners of the planet and has achieved recognition as the biggest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in North America.
