Playoff weekend will signal the end of the 2012 Greater Sudbury Lacrosse Association (GSLA) house league campaign in just a few days time, but that hasn't slowed down the action on the arena floors for this week.

In one of the better midget/intermediate matchups of the year, the Bandits received goals by Connor Newson and Cole Braney exactly one minute apart early in the third period, squeezing past the Rush 3-2.

Mike Randa scored the remaining Bandits' goal on a lovely individual effort, while Jake Sirkka replied with both markers for the undermanned Rush roster.

In novice play at the McLelland Arena in Copper Cliff, the Rush received two-goal efforts from both Evan Daigle and Ethan Stewart, trimming the Rocks 6-4.

Kyle Flynn and Zak Thompson scored one goal apiece for the Rush while Ethan Rogers (2), Jayden Duncan and Christopher Innes countered for the Rocks.

Over at Carmichael, Kevin Watson and Hunter Brazier powered the attack, scoring two goals each, as the Novice Wings outscored the Bandits 4-1. Joshua Hayes found the back of the net midway through the first period in accounting for the only Bandits goal of the game.

GSLA house league playoff action commences on Friday evening on three fronts (Coniston, Carmichael and McLelland), continuing right through the day on Saturday, with finals on Sunday narrowed down to just Carmichael and Coniston arenas.
