The Walden Mountain Bike Club's Wolfpak Racing Team, and several other local racers, put on a great show for the hometown crowd at the Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC Mountain Bike event held July 8 at the Naughton Ski/Bike Trails.

Five Wolfpak Members stepped onto the podium and four others posted impressive results. Crystal Sabel continued her dominance in the Senior Expert 19-29 female division by winning handily — more that six minutes ahead of the next finisher.

Benoit Doucette also took first place in the Master Sport 50-59 male field and Paul Guenette made it two victories in three races by taking the win in the Senior Expert 19-29 male category. Victor Hopper took third in the Junior Sport 17-19 ranks and Jody Wadell finished second in the Master Sport 30-34 male division.

Several of the Wolfpak Racing Members will head to Mattawa this coming weekend for the Lost in the Rocks and Trees enduro event. The Walden Mountain Bike Club will host the Sudbury Fitness Challenge MTB Tour July 29 in Naughton.

The next Ontario Cup event will be held in Gravenhurst at the Buckwallow Cycling Centre on Aug. 12.
