Crystal Sabel is continuing to rip up the cross-country mountain bike series in Ontario.

This past weekend, Sabel and teammate Jody Waddell both stood on the top of the podium as the Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC Mountain Bike Series made a stop at the Buckwallow Cycling Centre in Gravenhurst for the sixth of seven events.

The Woflpak Racing team was represented by four racers. Sabel won the senior expert 19-29 ladies division for the sixth time in a row in 1:21:14, while Waddell took just 1:12:19 to cruise to victory in the master sport 30-34 male division. Paul Guennette posted an eighth place finish in the senior expert 19-29 male category with a time of 1:53:37. Dominic Girard also was eighth in the junior expert 17-18 male field finishing in 1:53:14.

Two other Sudbury racers placed well in the event. Kristin Zazelenchuk placed sixth in the senior sport 19-29 female field and Jason Elson was 19th in the master sport 35-39 field.

The Ontario Cup season will wrap up at the Provincial Mountain Bike Championships Sept. 9 at Highlands Nordic Centre in Duntroon.
