HOCKEY SCHOOL- Denis Castonguay, Aug 30-31 at Tom Davies Arena in Walden; $200/one week or $300/two weeks. Group ages 6-8, 9-11 and 12-15. Contact Tod at 705-855-5877 or Denis at 705-855-9880.

GOLF TOURNAMENT- In support of A.C.T./UCT and Lupus, in memory of Ray Giroux, Sep 22 at Pinegrove Golf Club, 12 pm shotgun start. $80/player before Aug 31, $100/player after, includes 18 holes, cart, prizes, steak dinner. Register at 705-688-5921 or 705-692-3650.

BASKETBALL TRYOUTS- Sudbury Youth Basketball Association identification sessions/tryouts for girls born 2002 or 2003, interested in club basketball, Sep 9, 12-1:30 pm, Sep 12, 6-7:30 pm, at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School, free. Contact 705-675-1151 ext. 1028.

GOLF TOURNAMENT- In support of MS Society Sudbury Chapter, Sep 9 at Forest Ridge Golf Club in Chelmsford. Registration 10 am, shotgun start 11 am. $100/golfer, includes 18 holes, cart, dinner, prizes; Hawaiian luau theme, prizes for best costume. Register at 705-566-9299 or 705-692-9349.

CANSKATE REGISTRATION- Sudbury Skating Club Learn to Skate Program, at Countryside Arena, Sep 10 and 18, 4:30-6:30 pm. Sessions begin Oct, Sundays at Cambrian Arena, 2:15-3 pm, Mondays at Countryside Arena, 6-6:45 pm. Visit sudburyskatingclub.ca.

TRAIL RUNS- Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club Trail Run Series at Naughton Trails. Sep 18, Turkey Gobbler Run Oct 8, Under the Light Nov 6. One-km kids run, 3-km flat course, 5-km moderately hilly course. Registration 6-6:45 pm, runs at 7 pm; $5 for 14 and up, $2 for kids under 14. Proceeds to Club’s Youth Ski Programs.

FASTBALL TOURNAMENT- Sep 21-23, Thunderbird Park, Wikwemikong. Entry $350, guaranteed three games. $1,500 for first place. Register at 705-859-1708 (Mark) or 705-859-3597 (Lawrence).

NHL ALUMNI GAME- vs. Law Enforcement All Stars, Oct 19, at Garson Community Centre. Doors open 6 pm, puck drops 7 pm. Fundraiser for Special Olympics Ontario. Tickets available at 1-877-431-0685.
