Pushing the game to a shoot-out — there is no overtime in OHL pre-season play — the Wolves came out on the top with a 4-3 victory.
Heading into the second period with a two-goal deficit, Zach McFadden opened the scoring for the Wolves with a short-handed goal, assisted by Jacob Harris. The Greyhounds added another goal before the end of the frame, taking a 3-1 lead into the third.
The Wolves came out charging, with a goal from Jake Ryan less than two minutes into the final period on a power play. Assists went to Mackenzie Braid and Dominik Kahun. Less than four minutes later, the Pack scored again. Dominik Kubalik found the back of the net, with passes from Ryan and Evan De Haan.
Taylor Dupuis was between the pipes for Sudbury, turning away 37 shots on net, while Matt Murray made 30 saves for the Soo.
The Wolves are back in action tonight on home ice, hosting the Kitchener Rangers. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Sudbury Arena. Admission is only $12 for all ages.
