Following a particularly intense summer, Miquel Larocque, a Collège Boréal graduate, finished the season ranked first in the Golf Town National Amateur Series circuit.

His average score for the season was 79.9, the best in Ontario and Canada. His average drive was 308 yards, with a driving accuracy of 81.3 per cent. He won two major tournaments this summer and finished second three times during the season.

Thanks to his excellent performance, Miquel qualified for the National Amateur Golf Championships to be held Oct. 24 to 27 at the well-known Doral Club in Miami, Florida.

A graduate of the Physical Activity and Health Promotion Program (a two-year program) at Collège Boréal last spring, Miquel Larocque was captain of the Vipères, the intercollegiate golf team, for two years. He was the team's most valuable player in 2011-2012. He won the sports achievement bursary of $1,000, a bursary of $500 as the most valuable player, as well as the Gaétan Gervais Recognition Bursary.
