The Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation (SMCF) annual Bowl for Kids Bowl-a-thon is taking place Nov. 10 at Plaza Bowl Sudbury and there's still spots for additional teams or individuals to register.

“A bowl-a-thon is a great way to raise funds and awareness for the SMCF’s Send-A-Kid to Camp and bursary programs," said Tanya Tuohimaa, marketing and events director for the SMCF. "Bowling is a particularly suitable fundraiser for a foundation that supports kids. It is a fun way to spend a Saturday night, but most importantly, the needy children in our community will benefit from the money raised at the event.”

The entrance fee for the bowl-a-thon is $25 per person, or $150 for a team of six, and covers the cost of Rock and Glow bowling for two hours, as well as shoe rental. The event runs from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. There are several prizes to be won, which have been generously donated by local businesses. The due date to sign up a team is Nov. 2.

The Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation is a registered charitable organization that has been providing memorable camping experiences for abused and disadvantaged children of the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts since 1984. It has also been helping youth who have been in the care of the Children’s Aid Society achieve their educational goals through the Bursary Program since 2003.
