Make it two straight tournament wins for the Sudbury Intermediate A Lady Wolves.

After producing on their home turf, capturing the Wolf Howl at the end of September, the team looked to establish their name across the province, taking gold at the Waterloo Ravens Fall Cup Championship.

The team did so in impressive fashion, winning five straight and truthfully, only pushed in a pair of encounters, with the Vaughan Flames.

Goaltenders Mariah Pollock and Alexi Kennedy combined to post three shutouts as the Intermediate girls ran the table in round robin play, edging Vaughan 2-1 before blanking the Waterloo Ravens (6-0), the Zorra Fuzion (5-0) and the Stoney Creek Sabres (6-0).

The results created a rematch with Vaughan in a penalty-filled final, with Sudbury on the short end of the officiating stick more often than not.

Trailing 2-1, the Lady Wolves received a much-needed boost while killing a five-on-three as netminder Kennedy made a number of key saves, keeping her team in the game.

The 15 year-old rookie would be rewarded as Sudbury rallied with a pair of goals in the final eight minutes. Captain Tanya Lamon knotted the game at 2-2 before Erin Jones buried the winner.

Max Lebreton rounded out the scoring, with Kennedy finishing the game with 23 saves. Jacklyn Upchan was recognized as tournament MVP, racking up five goals and four assists over the weekend.

The team returns, looking for a three-peat in three weeks time, taking part in tournament play in Kitchener.
