Sudbury Wolves captain Frank Corrado did all that he could, but it wasn’t enough for the selection committee of Team Canada to reward the Wolves’ captain with a spot on the 2013 Team Canada World Junior team roster, according to a news release from the Sudbury Wolves.

The Vancouver Canucks prospect scored two goals and was steady as he could be on the blueline, but the Team Canada brass opted to go with four 18-year-old defencemen instead of a more veteran defensive lineup as has been the case in the past.

“The Sudbury Wolves organization is very proud of Frankie as he represented himself, the Sudbury Wolves, the City of Greater Sudbury and the Ontario Hockey League extremely well at the Team Canada tryout camp,” said Wolves’ President Blaine Smith. “We all welcome Frank back to Sudbury with open arms and can’t wait to see him back in our lineup this weekend.”

Wolves’ fans can show their appreciation by recognizing their captain tonight when the Wolves host the Plymouth Whalers. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m.
