Four Sudbury Wolves players spent an evening at the Samaritan Centre Jan. 16, dishing out hot food to people in need of a good meal.

Brody Silk said it was nice to be able to put a smile on someone's face.

β€œIt's good to help these guys get a good meal,” he said.

Silk was joined by Chad Thibodeau, Mathew Campagna and team captain Michael Kantor. Along with providing a service to those in need, the Wolves also helped launch the Centre's latest fundraiser.

On Feb. 23, the Samaritan Centre is hosting Coldest Night of the Year. The event gives the community the opportunity to experience β€œa hint of the challenges faced by the homeless during a cold Sudbury night in the dead of winter.”

Participants have the chance to walk two, five or 10 kilometres around downtown. They are invited to register as a team or as an individual, collecting pledges and making donations. All proceeds go to support the work of the Samaritan Centre.

The walk gets underway at 5 p.m. from the Rainbow Centre. To register, visit www.coldestnightoftheyear.org.
