Since dropping three of their opening five games this year, the Panhellenic crew have strung together a tidy nine-game unbeaten streak, recording seven wins and a pair of ties.
The successful stretch has allowed the Sudbury side to climb all the way up to fourth place, sporting a record of 9-2-3 for 29 points. The locals added six more to the mix over the weekend, sweeping the North Mississauga Panthers in a pair of games.
Renee Jacques scored the only goal of the game and Erin Persi recorded her sixth straight shutout as Panhellenic blanked the Panthers 1-0 on Saturday.
Coach Joe Persi and company gave themselves plenty more breathing room the next morning as Brigitte Lamothe netted the hat trick, leading the way in a 5-0 win.
Dayna Corelli and Layla Pinter added single tallies as Sudbury now trails only Hamilton Sparta (39), Burlington Bayhawks (35) and FEDS United (34) atop the league standings, holding games in hand over two of the three.
The team is back in action this weekend, in the midst of a current six-game home stand. Panhellenic welcomes the Bolton Wanderers (5-1-8) to the James Jerome Sports Complex, battling on Saturday at 4 p.m. and again on Sunday at 10 a.m.
