Just a day after picking up a 4-3 win on the road over the Elliot Lake Bobcats, the local NOJHL crew were on the receiving end on home ice Monday, beaten 7-1.
Elliot Lake netminder Etienne Roy was outstanding, turning aside 45 of the 46 shots he faced, with Aviv Milner leading the Bobcats' attack with a hat trick.
Andrew Plyshaj chipped in with a pair of goals, with Dustin Cordeiro and Austin Bissonette adding singles as the visitors scored five times in the second period to pull away with ease.
Josh Moore replied with the only goal for Sudbury, with rookies Andrew Lefebvre and Mackenzie Savard splitting the goaltending duties.
On Sunday evening, Patrick Lepage netted the game-winner with less than five minutes to play, lifting the Nickel Barons past the Bobcats. Goals from Bradley Bell, Sheldon Lalonde and Yanick Hebert rounded out the scoring for the winners.
Sudbury will open regular-season play a week from Wednesday, welcoming the Abitibi Eskimos to the McClelland Arena in Copper Cliff on Sept. 4.
