Reg Bonin and Brandon Dougan are taking the reins of the Varsity and Jr. Varsity Sudbury Gladiators Football Club teams, respectively.

Not only are both men former members of the Sudbury Spartans, but they have also enjoyed considerable success at the local high school level.

Bonin recently guided the Lively Hawks to their first ever SDSSAA varsity football championship, while Dougan has made appearances in the city finals with both the Confederation Chargers and the Lo-Ellen Park Knights.

The pair will be rounding out their staff selections over the next few months, but have confirmed some early coaching commitments.

Bonin said he is pleased to welcome brothers Brett and J.J. McKnight to his team, along with longtime defensive specialist Ossie Wilson.

Dougan has tapped the help of an alumnus as former Confederation quarterback Shane Hutchinson makes the jump to the coaching ranks of the Ontario Football Conference.

Player registration will be available on the Gladiators website at www.sudburygladiators.com effective March 1, with tryouts expected to begin in mid to late April.
