Kershaw, who finished fourth in the 2012 Tour de Ski and second in the 2011-12 World Cup standings, is one of 11 people nominated by Cross Country Canada to attend the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Kershaw and teammate Alex Harvey — who will also be going to Sochi — narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish in the team sprint at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.

He made his Olympic debut in Turin, Italy, in 2006.

Other athletes nominated by Cross Country Canada are Chandra Crawford, Daria Gaiazova, Perianne Jones, Emily Nishikawa and Heidi Widmer.

Rounding out the athletes are Ivan Babikov, Lenny Valjas, Graeme Killick and Jesse Cockney.
