Two more for Canada: Howell, Lamarre earn gold, bronze in slopestyle skiing

Canada added to its medal count Feb. 11 at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games when Dara Howell and Kim Lamarre finished first and third in women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle.

Canada added to its medal count Feb. 11 at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games when Dara Howell and Kim Lamarre finished first and third in women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle.

“Canada has been introduced not only to a new sport, but also to two new Olympic medallists. Dara and Kim have burst onto the world scene and have proven Canada is a powerhouse in women’s skiing slopestyle,” said Marcel Aubut, president of the Canadian Olympic Committee. “The entire Canadian Olympic family congratulates Dara and Kim for providing our nation with this memorable moment.”

Canada now has nine medals at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games (four gold, three silver and two bronze).
