Sudbury's Devon Kershaw pulled himself out of the Feb. 22 50-kilometre free mass start cross-country skiing event at the Sochi Olympics.
He tweeted Feb. 22 that he was too sick to race after being ill for a week.
In a disappointing Olympics for Kershaw, he finished 36th in the 15K classic, 56th in the individual sprint, and sixth in the team sprint semifinal.
Kershaw was 5th in the 50-kilometre event at the Vancouver Olympics, just 1.6 seconds from the gold medal.
