Women's basketball league begins April 30

Laurentian Voyageur Athletics is joining forces with Campus Recreation and the Sudbury Women's Basketball League for the 2014 season.

Laurentian Voyageur Athletics is joining forces with Campus Recreation and the Sudbury Women's Basketball League for the 2014 season.

The league, which is entering its fourth year for women aged 18 and up, will begin on Wednesday, April 30, starting at 7 p.m. The majority of games will take place on Wednesday nights in the Ben Avery Gym and the league will run until July 2.

Mike Clarke, Voyageurs Campus Recreation Manager, said in a news release he is excited to be bringing the established league into the fold.

“Shannon and Julie have done an outstanding job getting this league off the ground and this is the next step in developing the league,” he said.

“The services and resources that are available at Laurentian are second to none for the players and, for Laurentian, it increases our ability to showcase our wonderful facilities and helps cement our desire to be seen as an elite athletic destination for the Greater Sudbury community.”

The player registration fee is $85 and players can get more information or register at www.leaguelineup.com/swbl.
