A total of 18 teams from Sudbury, Espanola, Manitoulin Island and Webbwood participated in Rainbow District School Board’s Elementary Junior Coed Soccer Tournament on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10.
The MacLeod Mustangs captured gold against the Lively Hawks, with a 2-1 victory. The RL Beattie Barons took home bronze against the Algonquin Tigers, with a 1-0 victory.
Three teams, Webbwood Wildcats, Pinecrest Panthers and MacLeod Mustangs, earned a Spirit Award for demonstrating exemplary school spirit and sportsmanship. Each team received a team pizza banquet generously donated by Topper’s Pizza.
