Day 1 of the St. Charles College Second Annual Cardinal Cup is wrapped up at the Garson Arena, with the Thursday afternoon finals shaping up to provide some very intriguing matchups.

In Division A of the high school girls hockey tournament, the St. Charles College Cardinals and Collège Notre Dame Alouettes appear destined to renew acquaintances with gold medals on the line, after both teams easily disposed of the Marymount Regals in the double round-robin grouping.

Things, however, are tight right across the board in the Division B ranks following Wednesday's action, with the West Ferris Trojans from North Bay showing the way with a record of 1-0-1.
