The Sudbury Bantam B Lady Wolves have returned home with medals for the second time in as many months, capturing silver at the Whitby Tournament of Heroes two weekends ago.

This comes on the heels of their gold-medal performance in early November at the Waterloo Ravens Fall Challenge Cup Tournament. The locals edged the Nepean Wildcats 2-1 to begin the event in Whitby, with Shaylin Kosmerly and Hannah Nykilchyk scoring for the winners.

They did not slow down one iota when facing the host team, racking up a 4-0 win over the Whitby Wolves as Kendra MacMillan, Kaitlyn Walker, Mackenzie Gillis and Nykilchyk scored in support of the shutout netminding of Madison Penrose.

The Lady Wolves tasted defeat for the first time in Game 3, beaten 4-1 by the Russell Coyotes as Abby Robinson netted the only tally for the northern Ontario crew.

Thankfully, there was little or no carry-over from that game the next morning as the Lady Wolves took down the Wolves for a second time, posting a 5-1 semifinal win as Jayde Hurley led the way with a two-goal effort.

Alexandria Parent, Jenna Miller and Gillis also pulled the trigger for Sudbury, who could not duplicate their tournament opening win over Nepean, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Wildcats in the championship encounter.

Hailey Selk registered the lone goal for coach Greg MacMillan and company, as the team continues their busy regular season schedule, at home for their next tournament as they take part in the Snowflake Challenge from Feb. 13-15 in Sudbury.

The 2014-2015 edition of the Bantam B Lady Wolves includes Kaitlyn Walker, Abby Robinson, Gabrielle Frappier, Jayde Hurley, Alexandria Parent, Kendra MacMillan, Hannah Nykilchyk, Jenna Miller, Mackenzie Gillis, Karley Hull, Shaylin Kosmerly, Delaney Webkamigad, Mackenzie Tardif, Hailey Selk, Emilie Richer, Dana McLeod and Madison Penrose.
