But the team face a tough match this afternoon against Team Manitoba and the curling powerhouse led by Jennifer Jones (8-1).

This morning, Tracy Horgan, Jennifer Horgan, Jenna Enge and Amanda Gates dropped the Hastings rink 9-7 after 10 ends of hard-fought action in Moose Jaw, Sask.

Hastings opened the scoring in the first end with one, but Horgan took two in the second to take the lead. Hastings tied it in the third, but the fourth saw Horgan grab one point to retake the lead, and grab two more points in the fifth and a 6-3 lead.

Scoreless for ends four and five, Hastings scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh to tie it up, but Horgan and Co. notched two more in the eighth to take an 8-6 lead.

Hastings managed one point in the ninth end, but Horgan cinched the deal by scoring one more point in the 10th for a final score of 9-7.

The Horgan rink is now in action against the Jones rink.

At 6-3, the team betters the 4-7 record they posted in Red Deer, Alberta.
