The Sudbury Midget AA Lady Wolves will need to overcome a little adversity in order to prolong their time in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League playoffs.

The defending provincial champions trail the Mississauga Chiefs three points to one, following a pair of games last weekend. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in Game 1, with Taylor McGaughey netting the Sudbury marker.

After finishing in fourth place in LLFHL Central Division regular season play with a record of 12-6-4, but only five points back of the front-running Lady Wolves (16-5-1), the Chiefs recorded a key 3-1 victory in Game 2 of their quarter-final series.

Karli Shell accounted for the only goal for the locals, who must now win, in regulation time on Saturday, just to force overtime and possibly a shootout, in order to determine which team will advance to face the winner of the Whitby Wolves/Toronto Aeros matchup.

As for the surprising Peewee AA Lady Wolves, they have yet to commence their series against the Oakville Hornets, though it's sure to be another stiff test.

Not only did the Hornets (16-4-2) finish well ahead of the Lady Wolves (8-11-3) during the season, they also swept the home and home set by convincing scores of 5-0 and 5-1 back in November and December.
