It was a concept the Sudbury Wolves didn't seem to grasp Friday night as they lost 3-0 in Kingston. The Wolves were outshot by the Frontenacs 41-16.

Interim head coach Dave Matsos says the lack of shots was a sign of how some of the players performed.

"Seventy-five per cent of the guys showed up and gave 110 per cent, and that's all we ask" said Matsos after the game.

"The other 25 per cent, whether they didn't have it or couldn't find it, whatever the case may be, this isn't a team that can operate on half cylinders.”

The Wolves were outshot 14-5 in the first period and trailed 2-0. Kingston scored their third goal in the second, again outshooting Sudbury 11-6. There was no scoring in the third as the Wolves were outshot 16-5.

Matsos says the one bright spot was goalie Sam Tanguay who did his job making numerous outstanding saves to at least give his team a chance to stay in the game.

Tanguay says he was happy with the way he played, considering he had a lot of family and friends in the stands to watch him play.

"It didn't work out today, but it feels good to play and show the league what I can do" said Tanguay.

"There was a lot of traffic to deal with in my crease, but you have to deal with it and fight through it."

The Wolves were without goalie Troy Timpano and forward Jacob Harris -- both out with injuries -- while defenceman Cole Mayo was serving the first of a two-game suspension after a slewfoot penalty assessed Thursday night in Peterborough.

With the loss the Wolves record drops to 10-47-1-1 while they are now 3-24-1-1 on the road.

The Wolves are off Saturday and finish up their road trip Sunday in Mississauga at 2 p.m.
