The Copper Cliff Major Atom A Redmen certainly packed a punch this year.

Armed with an offensive arsenal that included the likes of Nikolaus Harry, Dominik Godin, Pierson Sobush and Oliver Côté, the Redmen captured three separate tournaments over the course of the 2014-2015 campaign.

On April 12, the team wrapped up their season on a high note, earning silver medals at the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) Provincial Championships in New Liskeard.

Goal scoring was, once again, front and centre for the local crew. The Redmen opened play with a 6-6 draw opposite the Burlington Bulldogs, with Harry leading the way with a hat trick.

Godin added a pair of goals, with Josh Van den Enden rounding out the scoring for Copper Cliff. No slowing down in Game 2 as the Redmen took down the host Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds 8-5, with Harry upping his goal count to six with a second straight three-goal effort.

Godin chipped in with two more tallies, while Côté, Pierson Sobush and A.J. Rondina pulled the trigger once each. The team remained unbeaten April 11, edging the Port Credit Storm 5-4, with Sobush breaking out with a four-point performance that included an equal number of goals and assists.

Harry, Godin and Ethan Mulligan also got on the scoresheet for the NOHA champions. Battling the eventual gold medallists, Copper Cliff dropped a 7-2 decision to the Uxbridge Stars in their final round-robin encounter, with Sam McCue and Godin providing the offence for head coach Lee Mulligan and company.

The Redmen bounced back nicely in their semifinal outing, trimming Burlington 3-1 as Harry scored twice more, with Sobush adding a solo effort. Unfortunately, Uxbridge were waiting in the wings for the grand finale, with the Stars grabbing the ultimate bragging rights with a 6-2 triumph over Copper Cliff.

"We really worked this year on being a team, collaborating and talking on the ice," noted Côté as the team gathered for their final pre-OHF practice on April 6. "We talked about winning as a team, and losing as a team."

Playing alongside Côté and McCue for much of the year, Ethan Mulligan notes some of the characteristics that has helped develop the high-scoring machine that were the Major Atom Redmen of 2014-2015.

"We all get a chance to move the puck around, get shots, score goals," said Mulligan. "We're all not puck hogs, and we all work very hard. We forecheck really well, and we make them make mistakes."

All in all, it was an outstanding season for the Nickel District Minor Hockey League team, which saw individual accolades doled out to goaltender Andrew Marois (Top Goalie at the OHF Championships) as well as Dominik Godin (Top Forward).

The complete Redmen roster is as follows: Andrew Marois, Alexei Dokis-Dupuis, Oliver Côté, Josh Van den Enden, Johnny Svalina, Connor Heffern, Sam McCue, Bradley Anderson, Zacharie Demers, Pierson Sobush, Nikolaus Harry, A.J. Rondina, Parker Tardif, Dominik Godin, Ethan Mulligan and Nicholas Tarini.
