Capturing the Grade 8 girls 1500m race in a time of 5:56.87,Lily Hayden of Lively District was just over a second slower than Rachel Leck(2011), despite winning her event by more than seven seconds.
Meanwhile,Lucas Mrozewski of R.L. Beattie posted a very impressive time of 56.98 in the Grade 8 boys 400m run, just over a second back of the long-ranking standard of 55.80 set by Brian Solmes of Churchill back in 1981.

Put into context, Mrozewski was almost four seconds faster than the recent gold medal winning time for midget boys in the SDSSAA high-school championships hosted just over a week ago.

Beattie, Tyson McFadden (Grade 7 - 100m/200m/shot put) and Hanna Smith (Grade 7 - 400m/800m) from Algonquin, as well as the Beattie tandem of Augustin Marks de Chablis (Grade 8 - 800m/1500m) and Colin Therrien (Grade 8 - 100m/200m).
