The Sudbury Peewee Rockhounds might not have been challenged until the finals of the Niagara Tomahawks Tournament, but when needed, showed that they could win the close ones as well.

After outscoring their opponents 38-5 through their first four games, the local lacrosse team edged the host Niagara Tomahawks 4-3 in overtime, taking home the championship banner.

The locals opened with back-to-back 10-1 victories over both the Newmarket Redbirds and Barrie Bombers, closing out their round robin schedule with a 11-2 triumph over the Welland Raiders.

The semi-final proved to be only a mildly tougher obstacle, besting the Brampton Excelsiors 7-1, before taking all the marbles facing Niagara.

The Peewee Rockhounds lineup features Sébastien Chartrand, Oliver Coté, Cloé Douillette, Jared Eadie-Chartrand, Benjamin Harris, Mason Lachance, Max McCue, Brandon Salem, Aidan Teeter, Ethan Teeter, Zak Thompson, Cameron Walker and Ethan Marois, though the latter was unable to attend this tournament.

The Sudbury coaching staff is comprised of head coach Benoit Douillette, assistants Jamie Teeter and Dave Lachance, trainer Kevin Chartrand and team manager Mark McCue.
