Golfers and NHL pros will tee off for the 18th year in a row June 11 during the 18th annual NHL Legends Golf Classic.

Jim Dorey, Steve Ludzik, Bob Nevin and Gilles Gilbert are among the NHL alum set to hit the links in the charity event, which is being held at Timberwolf Golf Course.

The event, which starts at 10 a.m., is in support of The Human League Association's Breakfast Club for Kids program, which, with the help of other community organizations, helps to provide more than 16,000 nutritious meals and snacks daily to local school-aged children.

The group also administers and operates P.L.A.Y. (Positive Leisure Activities for Youth) — a program that helps cover the costs associated with extra-curricular activities and sports.

“This year, we’re excited to have another great starting lineup joining us on the greens,” said Rod LaRocque, board president. “With such greats at Bob Nevin and Jim Dorey, I’m not sure if we’ll have more fun on, or off the greens at the end of the day.”

For those who can’t take the whole day off, tickets are being sold for the dinner with the pros.

For $50, guests will enjoy a prime rib meal, beverages and pics with the pros from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a live auction, prizes and giveaways for all in attendance as well.

It costs $200 per golfer to enter the golf tournament. For more information, phone 705-923-5356 or email [email protected].
