Wolves selected in NHL Entry Draft

Both Kyle Capobianco and Matt Schmalz can say they have been drafted by an NHL franchise. The two Sudbury Wolves were taken from the draft board in the third and fifth round respectively in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft today.

Both Kyle Capobianco and Matt Schmalz can say they have been drafted by an NHL franchise.

The two Sudbury Wolves were taken from the draft board in the third and fifth round respectively in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft today.

Capobianco was selected with the second pick in the third round(63rd overall) by the Arizona Coyotes.

The Wolves defensemen had a breakout season on the blue-line as he finished with 29 more points and 10 more goals than he did the season prior.

He also was one of the assistant captains for the team.

Matt Schmalz will be fighting his way into the LA Kings organization as they chose him in the fifth round(134th overall).

Schmalz made amazing strides this season as the forward finished with 24 goals to lead the Wolves.

That number was 21 more goals than the season before and was triple his total goals in his three previous seasons combined.

Both players went around where they were expected as both were ranked among the top 200 players in North America as per a scouting agency.
