Timberwolf take early lead at Ryder Cup

Timberwolf Golf Course have taken the early lead after one day of competition in the 2015 Ryder Cup, racking up the two most one-sided victories of the day in alternate shot pairs competition.

It will all come down to the final 18 holes for co-leaders Charles Corner and Carter Simon as the 2014 Investors Group Ontario Junior Boys Championship wraps up today at Timberwolf.
Timberwolf Golf Course have taken the early lead after one day of competition in the 2015 Ryder Cup, racking up the two most one-sided victories of the day in alternate shot pairs competition.

The tandems of Brian McGarry/Jesse Graham and Nick Quesnel/Ryan Willoughby both registered 5 & 4 triumphs, over Tom Cunningham/Brian Ceasar (Lively) and Dave Petryna/Chad Brousseau (Idylwylde) respectively.

The third win of the day for the Timberwolf crew came courtesy of John Hastie and Chase Woitowich, besting Ward Kyle and Paul Schweyer of the Idylwylde 3 & 1.

Lively sits second with two points, as Alex Watier and Mike Black slipped past the Timberwolf tandem of Tom Clark and Jordie Walker 2 & 1, while Rich Heslop and Jake Stefanko closed out Shawn Stevens and Matt Bortolotto one up on the final hole.

The Idylwylde avoided the shutout thanks to Ryan Bastien and John Kusnierczyk, earning a 2-up victory over the home course duo of Brent Hatton and John Palys.

Action resumes Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Idylwylde, as pairings of two match up in best ball competition, with individual match play closing things off Sunday afternoon at Timberwolf.
