The Laurentian Voyageurs women's soccer team earned a split in their two-game pre-season road trip on the weekend, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Brock Badgers, but rebounding to edge the McMaster Marauders by the identical score.

Missed opportunities proved costly on Friday, as the Voyageurs hit the posts or crossbar on three occasions, missing a pair of breakaways in losing to the Badgers. Thankfully, the response was swift and impressive.

Facing a very solid squad at McMaster, Laurentian were propelled by a local connection, as a cross from defender Megan Gallo was finished nicely by fellow CND graduate Brianne Rodrigue, making the most of an overlap run.

"We played solid through the back and middle versus Brock," noted head coach Rob Gallo the next day, following the team's win.

"Today, we were solid back to front, and we played everyone, which was nice to see. We limited their chances, so overall, it went well.”

Like the LU men, the Voyageur ladies open their 2015 fall schedule next weekend on the road, battling the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough, and sliding down to Oshawa the next day for a matchup with the UOIT Ridgebacks.
