Matt Bortolotto rode a pair of strong rounds out of the gate to an easy victory in the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club Championships last weekend, beating second place finisher Ward Kyle by fourteen shots in the three-round stroke play event.

Bortolotto fired a 69 and 72 on the first two days of the tournament, allowing him to ease in with an 84 on day three, all while never being seriously threatened at all.

The race for second place proved much tighter as Scott Whalen finished at 240, one shot back of Kyle.

The junior division was a lot closer than some might have expected as Tristan Renaud captured the crown, but only by two shots over second place finisher Emmett Taillefer.

The Bantam boys bragging rights went to Josh Hayes, carding a two round score of 169, well ahead of Oliver Taillefer at 173, while Julia Hayes topped the Junior Girls division with a single round score of 120.
