It took a little while to get the offense on track, but once in full gear, there was simply no slowing down the Sudbury Midget "AA" Lady Wolves.

The defending national champs swept a pair of exhibition games from the Sault Ste. Marie Wildcats Sunday in Blind River, blanking their northern rivals 3-0 before breaking out in a 6-1 win.

Myla McCormick opened the scoring, late in the second period, for the Lady Wolves in the opener, with Makyala Gratton and Melisa Kingsley providing some extra breathing room in the final 3:14 of the game.

Tristyn Elford recorded the shutout. Game two was markedly different as the Wolves jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead, firing three goals in just 63 seconds at one point, with Meagan McGaughey pacing the attack with a two-goal effort.

Rounding out the scoring for Sudbury were Logan Duffy, Mylene Lefebvre, Taylor McGaughey and Kingsley. The team now prepares for a somewhat longer road trip, heading to Burlington (Vermont), site of the annual NAHA Labor Day Tournament.
