On Sept. 24, 57 grade 7 and 8 students (44 boys and 13 girls) from ten Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools took part in the 7th annual CSCNO golf tournament.
This competition enabled the talented St-Denis (Sudbury), St-Joseph (Sudbury), Félix-Ricard (Sudbury), St-Augustin (Garson), Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), Notre-Dame (Hamner), Ste-Marie (Azilda), Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), St-Paul (Lively) and Saint-Joseph (Espanola) golfers to benefit from a friendly competitive encounter with fellow students from neighbouring French Catholic schools.
The four-player team from Val Caron’s École Jean-Paul II claimed the top prize with an average score of 50.5. École St-Denis (Sudbury) followed in second place with an average score of 51, École Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) in third place with an average score of 53.5 while École Ste-Marie (Azilda) came in fourth with a 54.25 average score.
In addition to the team results, three boys and three girls earned recognition for their individual efforts.
