After kicking off LLFHL (Lower Lakes Female Hockey League) play on the road, the Sudbury Midget "AA" Lady Wolves will enjoy a rare opportunity for some hometown support in the month of October.

Since being admitted to the LLFHL a few years back, the team has generally played their home games out of Parry Sound, a concession granted in order to be accepted into the southern Ontario based all-girls loop.

This coming Saturday, Oct. 10 at noon, the Lady Wolves welcome the Vaughan Flames to the Sudbury Arena, with the teams coming off a scoreless tie last weekend, despite Sudbury outshooting the home side 49-12.

Loryn Pearson recorded the shutout for the locals. One week later, the team will play host to the North Bay Ice Boltz, a very talented young crew, for a "Pink in the Rink" encounter.

The game, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Cambrian Arena (Oct. 17), will feature a $5/person minimum donation, with all proceeds going to the Janis Foligno Foundation.

The Sudbury squad remain unbeaten, having silenced the Barrie Sharks 3-1 in their league opener, and following up their 0-0 deadlock with Vaughan with a 4-0 whitewashing of the North York Storm.

Kiana Verbiwski, Makayla Blanchard and Brooke Kennedy scored against Barrie, while Taylor McGaughey paced the attack against the Storm with a two-goal effort.

Myla McCormick and Meagan McGaughey rounded out the offense for the Lady Wolves, with Pearson registering the shutout.
