Sudbury karate kid takes silver at World Championships

Tyler Boucher, a grade 9 student at Chelmsford’s École secondaire catholique Champlain won silver at the WKC World Karate Championships in Orlando, Florida.

The 14-year-old Boucher was able to measure his skills as a member of Team Canada against the best martial arts competitors in the world during the tournament that was held Nov. 9 to 13, competing in the WKC World Karate Championships.

Tyler rose to the challenge and won a silver medal in Chinese Forms as well as a fourth place finish in Korean Forms.
