The Sudbury Wolves kept it close for two periods Feb. 4, but a four goal outburst in the third period by the Windsor Spitfires led to a 6-1 win for the homeside.

The Wolves did not start their three game road trip on the right foot as they were outshot by a staggering 40-17 count.

Windsor got on the board in the first period with a goal by Christian Fischer, who opened the scoring with his 23rd goal of the season.

Mikhail Sergachev tallied his his 14th of the year in the second to give the Spitfires a 2-0 lead, before Wolves captain Danny Desrochers answered for Sudbury to make the score 2-1 after two periods of play.

Windsor struck early in the third with a powerplay goal from Fischer, his second on the evening, and Brendan Lemieux scored just two minutes later to push Windsor's lead to 4-1.

Cole Carter and Luke Boka added a pair of insurance markers for Windsor as the homeside cruised to a 6-1 victory.

The Wolves won't have any time to lick their wounds as they're back on the ice Friday night to take on the Flint Firebirds. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
