Silver at national championships for Chaput

Bradley Chaput of Benoit's Martial Arts in Sudbury brought back a silver medal from the Karate Canada National Championships. The event was held in Richmond, British Columbia between Jan. 29-31. Chaput won silver in the boys cadet kata division.

Bradley Chaput of Benoit's Martial Arts in Sudbury brought back a silver medal from the Karate Canada National Championships.

The event was held in Richmond, British Columbia between Jan. 29-31. Chaput won silver in the boys cadet kata division.

Two other members of Benoit's Martial Arts faired very well at the event as well, as Marissa Meandro and Ethan Bubba were both finalists in their respective divisions.

To earn a spot in the national championships the athletes had to attend three provincial tournaments and accumulate enough points to qualify. Bradley finished second in 14-15 and first in 16-17. Marissa second in 14-15 and third 16-17, and Ethan finished second in 12-13.
