BACON, Joseph Lawrence - In loving memory of Joseph Lawrence Bacon 63 years Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at his residence in Huntsville. Beloved father of Joe Bacon III (Kate) and Liana Bacon (Craig Ceppetelli who appreciated Joe as a mentor and friend). Cherished Papa to Hunter. Dear son of Joseph and Shirley Bacon predeceased. Loving brother of Frank Bacon, Carol Davey (Steve) and the late Patricia Tiffin predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by his friends Fi, Angelo, John and his canine buddy Cooper. Dad loved the outdoors: he was an avid skier, kayaker, hiker and fisherman and found nearly 2000 geocaches. He was also a gifted nature photographer. Our Dad was a teacher at Lo-Ellen Park SS for his entire career and during that time was a well-respected and loved track and field coach. He spent his summers and much of his free time all year long with his best friend and grandson, Hunter. An Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again May the Good Lord hold you in the palm of His hand. At Joe's request, there will be no funeral visitation or service. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hunter Ceppetelli Educational Trust Fund would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME. To light a memorial candle, flowers, donations or messages of condolences available on-line at www.lougheed.org

What a great man. He inspired me throughout his teaching in math. That inspiration gave me the confidence to continue my post secondary education in the field of business administration and finance. Will be missed.
Mr. Bacon was my teacher for many subjects at Lo-Ellen Park. I loved his classes. I also had the pleasure of meeting him again through our church. He was so nice to talk to and laugh with. He always had a kind word to say, or even just a big smile! I'm really sad to hear the news and will really miss him.
My deepest condolences. He taught me calculus at Lo-Ellen. He was fun and passionate, and I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He made learning both fun and easy. He will be missed
Probably the best high school teacher I had, he was an inspiring and understanding man with tremendous charisma. He'll be missed.
