EMOND, Gilbert - In Loving Memory of Gilbert Emond, 83 years, Tuesday evening, October 30th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Etiennette (nee Boucher) Emond of Sudbury. Loving father of Diane (husband Lexton Smith) of Brampton, Guy Emond (wife Debbie) of Sault-Ste-Marie, Richard Emond (wife Monique) of Hanmer, Nicole (husband Ronald Chretien) of Val Caron and Donald Emond of Sudbury. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren; Averill, Austin, Ricky, Lisa, Luke, Robert, Natalie, Juliane and great grandchildren Cameron and Tyler, Abella and Amellia, Blake and Carter. Predeceased by his parents George and Marie (nee Nadeau) Emond. Dear brother of (twin brother) Albert Emond(wife Pierrette), Georgette Methot and Yvon Emond all of Quebec and predeceased by Adrienne Pelletier, Romeo, Romuald, Hector, Origene and Paul. Gilbert was born in Cabano, Quebec. He married Etiennette in Biencourt, Quebec in 1952. He worked as a miner in Wawa, Saskatoon, Port Arthur and Thompson Manitoba and for 26 years was employed by Falconbridge Ltd., retiring in 1986. He was a member of the YMCA and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8360, Sudbury. His favorite pastime was music and Gilbert enjoyed playing the guitar, the accordion and the harmonica to entertain his family and friends. His family was his priority and he was a devoted husband, father and proud grandfather and will be greatly missed. Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St-Jean-de-Brebeuf Church Notre Dame Ave. (at Kathleen St.) Sudbury Saturday November 3rd, 2012 at 10:00 am Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury. Inurnment of his ashes at Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations in memory of Gilbert to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (Friends may gather at the church after 9:45am Saturday).
