 FAZEKAS, Louis - In Loving Memory of Louis Fazekas 84 yrs Monday afternoon January 30th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Loving husband of Mary (Hreljac) Fazekas of Sudbury. Beloved father of Stephen, Louis Jr and Christopher all of Sudbury and Cathie Wilson of Brampton. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Scott and Lucas Wilson and Brianna Fazekas. Dear brother of Steve (wife Ruth) both predeceased, Betty (husband James Whitesell predeceased), Rose Slyziuk (husband Ernie predeceased), Margaret (husband Jim) both predeceased, Julie predeceased, Alex predeceased, Sam (wife Madeline predeceased) and John (wife Helen predeceased). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Louis was born in Windsor, Ontario and was the son of the late Stephen and Rebecca Fazekas. He was married in Creighton Mine on June 18th, 1960 to Mary Hreljac. Louis was a bartender for over 30 years at the International Hotel. In April of 1982 he received the Meritorious Service Award which recognizes excellence in service to others as a member of the Hospitality Industry. Baseball was a passion of Louis' having in his earlier years at the age of 19 being given a tryout with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He pursued his interests by coaching in the Nickel Region Baseball League and was very instrumental in influencing the Americans in bringing “The King and his Court“ to Creighton Mine to play ball. In keeping with Louis' wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
