LAVICTOIRE, Edouard - The family announces with sorrow, his death at the Pioneer Manor in Sudbury, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Edouard was a retired miner having worked underground for 43 years (18 years at Palmour Timmins and 25 years at Falconbridge Nickel Mines). He moved to Garson from Timmins in 1965. Son of the late Hormidas and of the late Cecilia (née McMahon) Lavictoire. Beloved husband of 59 years of Thérèse Lavictoire (née Duguay). Loving father of Léo Lavictoire (Nicole), Pauline Rochon (Raymond), Jules Lavictoire all of Garson and Aline Grzela (Gérald) of Timmins. Dear brother of René (Fleurette), Johanne Laneville (Maurice) and Madeleine Brousseau (Benot) all of Timmins. Predeceased by his brother Thomas (Jackie) and his sisters Irene Boutin (Normand), Doreen Prudhomme (late Gerry) and Gaby Leroux (late Georges). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Edouard was an avid “ Montréal Canadiens” fan and in his better years he also enjoyed dancing, travelling, the outdoors, walking but most of all he was very happy when surrounded by his loving family. He was an inspiration to all who knew him; his joie de vivre, his good nature, his playfulness and his smile. The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Heritage Lane and Cranberry Place at Pioneer Manor for the kind and compassionate care given. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Friday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St- Dominique Church, Sudbury.
