MALNACHUK, George - In Loving Memory of George Malnachuk 88 years, who passed away Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury after a brief illness. George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ella (Bernier) in 1994. Loving father of Anne, Louise, Linda (husband Mark), Danny (predeceased) and Joan. Cherished Poppa of Paul and Tanya (husband Amir). Dear brother-in-law of Pete and Margaret Bernier (both predeceased), Muriel Dulude (Guy predeceased), Anna Bernier (Hank predeceased), Al Bernier, Ray Bernier (Alice predeceased) and Kenny Bernier (predeceased). Sadly missed by many nephews and nieces. Special friend of Noella and the Proulx family. Born in Blind River where in his youth he worked in the family-owned bakery with his parents, Nicholas and Iftimia. George later became an officer in the Ministry of Corrections. He worked in Burwash, where he made life-long friends, until its closure in 1974. George and his family then moved to Mansfield, Ont., where he was in charge of Camp Dufferin until his retirement in 1983. He was known to many as CB Geo because of his radio hobby which introduced him to many local friends and some across the world. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Westmount Retirement Home, where George lived for over the past year, for their excellent care and support. George's days there were also made comfortable by the special care of all of his PSW's, especially Carmen. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses of 4 North. George's kind and gentle manner will never be forgotten. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer.
