OSBORNE, William (Bill) Muir - Passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on May 2, 2012 in Thornhill at the age of 91. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Miller) for over 58 years. Proud father of Leslie (Bob Bell), John (Shelley), Doug (Brenda) and Robert (Shirley). Cherished grandpa of Candace, Trevor, Dana (Darren), Chris (Lauren), Tyler, Kimberly, Diana and great-grandpa to Iyla. Predeceased by his brother John “Bus“. He was a chemical engineer with C-I-L for 42 years, a long-standing member of St. Peter's (Sudbury) and Thornhill United Church. Bill was dedicated to his family and community, a choir member, avid curler, golfer, gardener, photographer, scout leader and a proud WWII Veteran. He will be remembered by his family and many friends for his determination, love of family and great sense of humour. “He looked for the good in others and gave the best that he had.“ A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Thornhill United Church (25 Elgin Street). Visitation and reception to follow. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thornhill United Church or a charity of your choice. Condolences www.rskane.ca. Doug,Brenda, Kim & Diana, We were very sorry to hear about your beloved Dad & Grandpa. It was obvious to us how much Bill was loved by all of you. Doug ,you always had a funny story to tell about your Dad, he will no doubt be missed by you and your entire family.
