PATHER, Dr. Kumendran “Kumie“ - (born Durban, South Africa, April 13, 1970). With broken hearts we announce Kumie's unexpected passing on Sunday, February 3rd, 2013. Kumie was a loving father, son, husband and friend. Forever remembered by his wife Sandra and daughter Thea; his mother and father, Indrani and Radhakrishna Pather; his brother Vivek (Kathy) and their daughters Karly and Katie; his brother-in-law Scott (Ann), nephews Matthew and Evan; mother-in-law Betty Milencoff and late David Milencoff; special friends (including Amit, Mark, Rano); extended family and friends from around the world. Kumie was highly respected and educated - High School Class President, BSc Western, DDS North Western (Valedictorian), and M.Sc Orthodontics University of Michigan. Adored by patients and colleagues for his compassion and care. He inspired others with his humility, humanity and joy for life. Friends will be received by family on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm and Thursday evening from 6-9 pm at the CATTEL, EATON & CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME, 53 Main Street, Dundas, Ontario where Kumie's Service will take place on Friday at 1 pm with celebration of life reception to follow. In kindness, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. Kumie bore his illness with great courage and dignity.
