Obituary

PRIOR Karin - In loving memory of Karin Prior, 51 years, who died on Monday, August 20, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. Raised in Lively, Karin graduated from Western University in 1985 with a BSc, Occupational Therapy. Shortly after, she moved to London, UK and later, she and her then companion, Brian Hindson relocated to the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Karin enjoyed her home, friends, and sheep on the Isle of Lewis, where she resided with her beloved daughter, Bethany Hindson. In addition to her daughter, Karin is survived by her parents, Thomas and Marion, sister Lynn and her husband John Roizin, brother Gordon and his wife Andrée Cadieux, sister Susan and her husband Tim Hore, her companion John Hodkin, and her friend Brian Hindson. Karin inspired so many with her skills, enthusiasm, creativity, and generosity. We will miss her adventurous and loving spirit. Funeral arrangements are being handled in Uig, Scotland. Memorial contributions are welcome and may be made to the Linda Norgrove Foundation, 3 Mangersta, Isle of Lewis, Eilean, Siar HS2 9EY(www.lindanorgrovefoundation.org) or the charity of your choice.

Condolences

Karen SmytheAug 30, 2012

I know your entire family is in a great deal of pain, as are all of Karin's friends. I knew Karin for 32 years and she was the most caring, insightful human being I've ever known. I wish you safe travels on your return trip home. My parents (Margaret Stavang, who knew Marion in high school, and Clifford Smythe, who knew Thom from the Copper Cliff Club), also send their sincere sympathy.

To all of the Priors: Paul and I were so shocked and saddened to hear of Karin's death. It's still so hard to believe. We are thinking of all of you and wishing there was something we could do to ease your pain. I remember Karin's wonderful smile and laugh. She will be missed by so many who loved her and whose lives she touched in a very special way.

I was saddened and shocked by this tragic news. Karin was an old friend from Grade 13 in Espanola and a roommate at Western. A wonderful, lovely person. So sad....Patrick Diebel

Life is eternal, and love is immortal and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. (R. W. Raymond) May peace be with you all, Eva Ekeroth

Dear Marion, Tom and family: I was so sorry to hear of Karin's accident from Sylvia and she said you had all just been there. I saw the report in the Scottish newspaper. It sounds like Karin enjoyed life in Scotland and I am glad you will be there for a while and to be with Bethany. Sincerely with love Cathy
