Obituary

PROULX, Fernande (née Cté) - It is with sorrow that the family announces the passing of Fernande Proulx (née Cté) on July 8th, 2012. Fernande was predeceased by her husband Lucien Proulx (1926-1987) and her parents Albert Cté and Lydia St- Aubin. Fernande was very proud of her 9 children, Michelle Robichaud (Jean), Jacques (Dorothy), Marc, Sister Suzanne- Christine, Daniel (Roberta), Pierre, Jean (Kathy), François (Shelley) and Jeannette (late Trevor Volway). Fernande cherished her 11 precious grandchildren Erica, Jean- Guy, Lyne, Jean-Pierre, Luc, Erik, Mathiew, Alexandra, Julie, Stéphanie and Trevor. She also rejoiced in her 7 great grand-children Jacob, Joey, Gabrielle, Ashleigh, Émilie, Isabelle and Patrick. Fernande will be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters: Louis (Cécile), Jean-Paul (Thérèse), Thérèse Beauparlant (Roger), Marguerite Lalande (Hervé), Jacques (Paulette), Gérard (Yvonne), Luc (Pauline), Marcel (Patsy), Rita Barbe (predeceased) (Ronald) along with many sisters in law and brothers in law from the Proulx family. Mom will always be remembered by all that knew her as a kind, honest, down to earth and smiling woman. She never let life bring her down, she always stood proud for what she believed in and she always held her head up high. Mom maintained her pride and dignity up until her last breath. She was active up until the very end; her involvement at the Centre Communautaire of Sudbury was a great source of pleasure for her. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to her long-time family doctor André Roch. Special thanks to Drs Roch, De Blacam and Sauvé for their extended support, comfort and worlds of wisdom to our mother and to the family while mom was in the hospital. The family is also thankful to the very special, caring and gentle nursing staff (4th floor North Tower) that took care of mom. Viewing will be held at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, Wednesday, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. PROULX, Fernande (née Cté) - C'est avec beaucoup de peine que la famille annonce le décès de Fernande Proulx (née Cté) le 8 juillet 2012. Elle était l'épouse de Lucien Proulx (1926-1987) et la fille ainée de feu Albert Cté et de feue Lydia St-Aubin. Neuf enfants la pleureront longtemps: Michelle Robichaud (Jean), Jacques (Dorothy), Marc, S. Suzanne-Christine, Daniel (Roberta), Jean (Kathy), Pierre, François (Shelley), Jeannette (feu Trevor Volway). Ses onze petits-enfants Erica, Jean-Guy, Lyne, Jean-Pierre, Luc, Érik, Mathiew, Alexandra, Julie, Stéphanie, Trevor et ses sept arrières petits-enfants Jacob, Joey, Gabrielle, Ashleigh, Émilie, Isabelle et Patrick lui apportaient beaucoup de bonheur, de fierté et de récomfort. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs: Louis (Cécile), Jean-Paul (Thérèse), Thérèse Beauparlant (Roger), Marguerite Lalande (Hervé), Jacques (Paulette), Gérard (Yvonne), Luc (Pauline), Marcel (Patsy), Rita Barbe (prédécédée) (Ronald) ainsi que des beaux-frères et belles soeurs Proulx. On se souviendra de Maman comme une personne de grande foi, aimante, honnête , souriante. Femme de principe, courageuse et fière, elle savait faire face à la vie et à ses défis avec une force et une confiance remarquables et ce jusqu'à son dernier souffle. Sa participation au Centre communautaire de Sudbury lui a apportée de nombreuses amies et des heures de plaisir. La famille tient à remercier son médecin de famille depuis longtemps, le Dr André Roch. Nous animent également des sentiments de reconnaissance envers les docteurs Roch, Sauvé et De Blacam pour leur grande attention, leur douceur, leur humanité durant ses derniers jours parmi nous. Nous ne pouvons passer sous silence les soins doux et professionnels, toujours attentifs et présents du personnel soignant (4e plancher tour Nord). La famille recevra parents et amis à la COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE, 222 boul. Lasalle, Sudbury le mercredi de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h30. Une messe funéraire sera célèbrée le jeudi 12 juillet 2012 à 10h à la Paroisse St-Jean-de- Brébeuf, Sudbury. Des dons (par chèque seulement) à l'Association Canadienne du Diabète ou la Société de la Sclérose en plaques seraient grandement appréciés.
