RYAN, Mary Patricia “Patty“ (Mallon) - In loving memory of Mary Patricia “Patty“ Ryan (Mallon), March 18, 1940 - February 2, 2012. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Best Friend Patty passed away on February 2, from late-stage complications of Parkinson's disease; finally at peace and surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 49 years, long-time best- friend, and soulmate of Peter J. Ryan. She will be greatly missed by her five children Theresa Naisbitt (Ed), Patty-Ann Ross (Greg), Michael Ryan (Ali), John Ryan (Tina) and Kate Budden (Jeff). Patty was the loving and cherished “Grandie“ to Melanie, Kathleen and Emma Naisbitt; Conor, Joseph and Brendan Ross; Hayden and Spencer Ryan; Caileigh Ryan and Annie, Ryan and Sarah Budden - to all of whom she taught kindness, laughter, love and courage in the face of her long-time hardship with her illness. Patty is also survived by her mother, Mary Mallon (100 years); her sisters Sally and Elizabeth (Bitsy), and her brother Fergus. Predeceased by her sister Martha Mallon. Patty with her husband Peter, cherished her summers at Gung Ho, on Wolseley Bay of the French River, where she was able to bask in the chaotic joy of the activities of her children and grandchildren around her. We know now that she can walk again, dance again, ski with Peter, and dive off the rocks of Gung Ho, into the refreshing waters of Wolseley Bay. The family would like to express their gratitude to the outstanding nursing staff at Health Sciences North – Sudbury Outpatient Centre for the wonderful care given to Patty, and the kindness and support given to the Ryan family in her difficult final days. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury (friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday). Parish Prayers 3 PM Sunday.
