SAVOIE, Alphonse Joseph (Sir Knight) - In loving memory of Alphonse Joseph Savoie (Sir Knight), 82 years, Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at St. Gabriel's Villa, Chelmsford. Soul mate, best friend, and beloved husband for 58 years of Alice (née Démoré) Savoie of Hanmer. Loving father of Don (Gail), Michel (Nicole), Nicole (John Mazara), Gaetanne (Guy Rancourt), Rachelle (Kevin McConnell) and Robert (Melinda). Cherished grandfather of Eric, Daniel, Shawn, Christopher, Megan, Mathieu, Wesley, Steven, Tarah, Jake, Jessica, Tyler and great grandchild Noah. Dear son of Timothée and Marie-Anne (née Arseneault) Savoie predeceased. Dear brother of Hyacinthe (Carmelia), Alexina (John Basque predeceased) and predeceased by Aurele (Laurette), Gerald, Albertine (Gerard Landry), and Emerentienne Thibodeau (Alcide). Special brother in law to Elda. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Alphonse was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Jacques Council #5005 and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, St. Jacques Assembly #1746 Hanmer. A well-respected and successful businessman in Valley East and Sudbury District. He was devoted to his loving family and the #1 fan of his grandchildren's sports. He enjoyed fishing and farming with his family. He will be remembered as a good shepherd and good Samaritan to all he met. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer. (Friends may call 2-5; 7- 9pm Tuesday). Prayers by the Knights of Columbus at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass in St. Jacques Church, 46 Cote Blvd, Hanmer Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 at 11am. Interment in the Valley East Cemetery. Donations to St. Gabriel's Villa (Vermillion Neighbourhood Residents' Activities) would be greatly appreciated.
